  Abbey Synthetic Turf

WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL TURF?
Artificial, or synthetic, turf is a surface of artificial fibers made to look like natural grass. In recent years, it is being used on residential lawns and commercial applications. Artificial turf stands up to heavy use and requires no irrigation or trimming. There are several layers to the synthetic grass including: the artificial grass fibers, infill (optional), weed barrier, decomposed granite, and the natural soil. We have the right people, products, and tools to keep your synthetic lawn looking great forever! We can handle anything from a simple front yard to a custom backyard. We have supplied and installed synthetic turf in playgrounds, schools, parks, and custom homes.

WHY SHOULD YOU GET IT?
1. Pays for itself: when considering savings on landscape irrigation and landscape maintenance, the typical artificial grass installation pays for itself within 3 to 5 years when compared to a natural lawn
2. No mowing: the typical household lawn mower when used for just one hour causes as much pollution as a car driving on the freeway in traffic for 10 hours
3. No watering: save 37 gallons of water per sq. ft. per year (for a typical residence with 1,000 sq. ft. of lawn, the installation of artificial grass will save over 700,000 gallons of water in its useful lifetime)
4. No gardener: save on monthly maintenance costs
5. Looks good all year long: weather patterns and seasons never affect aesthetic

WHAT ARE THE SAVINGS?
The average household spends uses over 11,000 gallons of water per month. Over 40% of that is used on watering lawns. Choosing synthetic turf over a traditional lawn can save over 50,000 of gallons annually per household. This is an average savings of $1,840.00 annually. Synthetic turf is an investment that pays for itself and looks great every day.

CALIFORNIA DROUGHT MONITOR MAP

The map from 2015 was created during one of the worst droughts in our state's history. As you can see from the 2020 map on the right, our drought conditions have improved drastically. California has taken many steps over recent years to limit water use and improve our drought conditions. Although, most of California is not in the dark red color (exceptional drought) anymore, we still need to do our part in helping our state and our planet. With climate change being an important issue at the moment, conserving water is a major way we can reduce our carbon emissions. By choosing turf, you would be helping more than you know!
