1. Remove existing lawn- Using a sod cutter, dig the soil out to a depth of approximately 2-3 inches. The artificial grass will need to sit approximately 1/2 inch above any edging.
2. Install a weed barrier- In order to prevent weeds from growing through the turf, lay a sheet of weed-suppressing membrane underneath your synthetic turf.
3. Add decomposed granite- Apply a thin aggregate layer of decomposed granite over the weed barrier. Compact it using a sub compactor to create a solid base. This layer will provide you with a firm, well-draining surface that will support the rest of the material.
4. Add the Artificial Turf- Add the artificial turf of your choice, cut around walkways, cement, gardens, etc. and add turf spikes to secure the turf.
5. Enjoy your new lawn!
